seminar in celebration of International Women’s Day 2026 and the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Desk
for Women. The seminar, held at the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Thailand Building in Bangkok, was conducted
under the theme: “Feminist Theology: The Special Dignity of Women in God’s Plan” and was attended by approximately
70 participants.
Ethnic Youth Learn Digital Media Literacy : On 24 January 2026, the
Desk for Justice and Peace organized a workshop on digital media
literacy for ethnic youth at Saint
Francis Xavier Minor Seminary in
Lampang Province. The workshop
was conducted for seminarians
with the aim of strengthening their understanding of digital media, promoting
critical media literacy skills, and providing guidance on protecting themselves from risks and threats arising from
online media use.
Ethnic Youth Learn Digital Media Literacy On 25 January 2026, the Desk
for Justice and Peace organized a workshop on digital media literacy for
ethnic youth under the care of the Catholic Center at Our Lady Gate of
Heaven Church, Mueang Pan District, Lampang Province. The workshop
aimed to equip young people with digital media literacy skills and
provide guidance on protecting themselves from risks and threats
associated with online media use.
Lenten Campaign
Lenten Campaign 2026 : The Desk for Human & Social Development, in
collaboration with the Social Commissions of all dioceses nationwide, has
launched the reflection on the Lenten Spirit for 2026 under the theme “Listening
and Fasting.” This initiative is accompanied by the Lenten messages of Pope Leo
XIV and Bishop Joseph Vutthilert Laehlom. Lent invites Christians to deepen
their spiritual life through attentive listening to the Word of God, practicing
fasting as a way of opening the heart to grace, and walking together in faith as a
community, not only as an individual journey of conversion. The Holy Father
further emphasizes the importance of asking for the grace to listen more deeply
to God and to one another, to practice true fasting, and to refrain from harsh
words, so that Christian communities may become spaces of love and attentive
listening to the voices of those who suffer, thereby contributing to the building
of a “civilization of love” that begins in our hearts and relationships.
