Study Visit on the Development of Elderly Care Systems
The Regional Program for Elderly in Asia Project organized a study visit and learning exchange on the development
of elderly care systems with the Municipality of Bueng Yitho, Pathum Thani, held from 26–28 February 2026 at the
Camillian Pastoral Care Center, Lat Krabang, Bangkok. 

Meeting to Advance the Community Elderly Daycare Center at Songyae Church, Yasothon Province
Saint Michael Songyae Church, located in Kham Toei Subdistrict, Thai Charoen District, Yasothon Province, hosted a
meeting with the working team of the elderly daycare and community elderly center at Saint Michael Songyae School
Hall. The meeting brought together representatives from government agencies, Church organizations, the public
health sector, and local community networks, including Regional Health Center No. 10 Ubon Ratchathani, the Ubon
Ratchathani Diocesan Pastoral Center, Kham Toei Municipality, and other related local agencies.

During the meeting, a project consultant from Regional Health Center No. 10 presented guidelines for the development
of an elderly daycare center based on the Bungmai model, aiming to expand and adapt the initiative to other
communities in order to improve the quality of life and care for older persons.

Following the meeting, participants visited the proposed site, which will be renovated into a suitable elderly care
center for active and homebound elderly persons, while also serving as a space for health promotion activities and
community participation among the elderly. 

Study Visit on the Pilot Elderly Care Project
From 15–19 March 2026, a study visit and workshop were organized in Ubon
Ratchathani Province, the pilot area of Thailand’s elderly care project, for
representatives from four countries and delegates from South Korea. The
program brought together partners from government agencies, the public

health sector, local universities, and Church organizations within the area.

During the visit, the delegation met with Bishop Stephen Boonlert
Phromsena to report on the progress of the project and discuss the next
phase of development (Phase II). Participants also visited the “Bungmai Integrated Community Care Center for
