daycare services, home-based elderly care, and cooperation
with local networks.
In addition, representatives from the Philippines, Indonesia, and Tajikistan shared experiences and good practices in
elderly care. Meanwhile, the team from Thare, another project pilot area in Thailand has also developed a daycare
center for elderly persons with dementia, along with collaboration with local universities to create fall-prevention
exercise programs for the elderly. The Ubon Ratchathani model is scheduled to be presented at a conference in Seoul,
South Korea, and later published in an international academic journal.

Annual Meeting of the Migrant Workers and Prison Ministry Networks
On 11–12 February 2026, the NCCM organized its first annual meeting of 2026,
bringing together networks working in migrant worker ministry and prison
ministry. The meeting also served as a platform for collaboration with
government and private sector partners from the Lao PDR, representing
Vientiane, Luang Prabang, and Khammouane Provinces, at Chiang Khan
District, Loei Province, Thailand. During this occasion, NCCM officially launched
its Five-Year Strategic Plan (2026–2030) as well as its Safeguarding Policy,
reaffirming its commitment to pastoral care, protection, and collaborative mission across the region.
Health Pastoral Care
Catholic HIV/AIDS Network Meeting and the 30th Anniversary Celebration of Camillian Social Center Rayong
On Saturday, 31 January 2026, the Catholic Committee for
HIV/AIDS (CCHA) under Desk for Pastoral Health Care organized
the first HIV/AIDS Network Meeting of 2026 at the Camillian
Social Center in Rayong Province, in both onsite and online
formats. The gathering also marked the 30th anniversary
celebration of the center.
The meeting was led by Fr. Pairat Sriprasert, Director of the Desk
for Pastoral Health Care, together with network members from
various organizations, to exchange updates on HIV/AIDS
ministry and discuss ways to strengthen collaboration and
response to current social challenges. During the meeting,
Rev. Fr. Giovanni Contarin was appointed as the new
Chairperson of the Committee, and the annual action plan and
meeting schedule for 2026 were established to continue
promoting pastoral care and support for people living with HIV/AIDS.
